Public Awareness Program – For Excavators and the Affected Public

Excavators and the affected public make up two of our four stakeholder audience categories. As an excavator or member of the affected public in the area of our pipeline, we rely on your support for the successful and safe operation of our pipeline system.

We communicate with excavators and the affected public to ensure that you have the knowledge and information required to help us prevent a pipeline emergency and how to respond appropriately in the rare event that a pipeline emergency does occur.  Our communication efforts with excavators and the affected public include reaching out periodically through electronic communications, mass media, personal meetings and print documents.  Through these communications we work to provide you with information on the following topics: damage prevention, leak/damage recognition and response, one-call requirements, pipeline location information, potential hazards and ROW encroachment.
